Hello Everyone!

Welcome to my photography blog where you'll enter a world of interesting and sometimes breathtaking images of God's creation.

Two summers ago, I revisited my long lost hobby of photography. It had been almost 25 years since I held a 35-mm camera — or in today’s terms, a DSLR — in my hands. (Back then, I was developing film and creating my photos in dark rooms.)

Despite my hectic schedule, working long hours, caring for my family, battling stress, and fighting exhaustion at the end of the day, I decided to wind down each evening with a stroll around my neighborhood with camera in hand — taking snapshots of people, places and things. That’s when God opened my eyes to the beauty of the trees, flowers, landscapes — and the sunrises and sunsets He created. I never took pictures such as these before or even thought much about zooming in on the intricate details of flowers and leaves. But that was the Lord’s means of directing my attention away from my troubles toward Him through the lens of my camera. And through that tiny viewfinder and lens, I saw the greatness and majesty of God!

While focusing on Him as I walked through my neighborhood snapping away, my stress disappeared and my strength and energy returned.

Imagine if we all did this at the end of a busy, trying day. Not necessarily taking photos, but perhaps focusing on God by listening to our favorite worship songs, meditating on a bible verse, or praying with a friend. Whatever gets your attention on the Lord is all that matters, because when we focus on Him, He speaks to us when we least expect it and promises to give us signs of His glory.

Dragon Fly

I took this photo while vacationing in Virginia Beach this past week. The dragon flies were quite prolific in the area. My husband and I were seated outdoors at a restaurant and the dragon fly landed on a bush right in front of our table. Since I had my camera and zoom lens, I decided to zero in on the little fellow. I always wanted a close up of a bug of any sort. This is my first. Enjoy!
